TO AUSTRALIAN PRELATES: CARE FOR CELEBRATION OF LITURGY

The Pope recently met with our Australian Bishops. I'm sure the discussions covered a lot of ground.
One thing that struck me in the press release from the Vatican Information Service was these few words from our great Pontiff:

"As we know, the sacred liturgy and its forms are written deeply in the heart of every Catholic. Make every effort to help catechists and musicians in their respective preparations to render the celebration of the Roman Rite in your dioceses a moment of greater grace and beauty, worthy of the Lord and spiritually enriching for everyone".

Let's hope and pray that our shepherds take this message to heart. The time of the implimentation of the new and corrected translations is fast approaching. This is a teachable moment if ever I've seen one.

Prayer to implore graces through the intercession of Gilbert Keith Chesterton

God our Father,

Thou didst fill the life of Thy servant Gilbert Keith Chesterton with a sense of wonder and joy, and gave him a faith which was the foundation of his ceaseless work, a hope which sprang from his enduring gratitude for the gift of human life, and a charity towards all men, particularly his opponents.

May his innocence and his laughter, his constancy in fighting for the Christian faith in a world losing belief, his lifelong devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and his love for all men, especially for the poor, bring cheerfulness to those in despair, conviction and warmth to lukewarm believers, and the knowledge of Thee to those without faith. We beg Thee to grant the favours we ask through his intercession, [and especially for …,] so that his holiness may be recognized by all, and the Church may proclaim him Blessed. Through Christ our Lord.
